Women’s Cross Country Runs in Nassaney Invitational Saturday
Sophomore Angie Rafter finished eighth overall for the 5K women's course.
The Central Connecticut women's cross country team opened its 2018 season on Saturday Sept. 8 at the Nassaney Memorial Invitational at Bryant University in Smithfield, RI. The Blue Devils finished sixth overall across the 12 team field. Sophomore Angie Rafter completed the 5K women's course in 18:13 finished for eighth place as the first in for CCSU.
Sophomore Megan Brawner finished in 18:48. Freshman Ashley Dana ended her collegiate debut with a time of 19:31, while sophomore Sabrina Chesters finished right after at 19:32.
Freshman Kiley Rodriguez (19:51) and sophomore Kailyn Accetura (20:59) rounded out the opening meet for Central.
In two weekends, the women's cross country team will hosts its 16th Annual Ted Owen Invitational at Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain, CT. The home meet is slated to start at 11 a.m.
