Women's Cross Country Runs at Massachusetts Saturday
Junior Madeline Mondo led CCSU in 11th place.
The Central Connecticut women's cross country team opened its 2017 season on Saturday, Sept. 9 at the Massachusetts Minutewomen Invitational in Amherst, MA. The Blue Devils finished seventh overall across the seven team field. Junior Madeline Mondo completed the 5K women's course in 18:20 good for 11th place as the first in for CCSU.
Redshirt freshman Megan Brawner finished in 19:34. Two true freshmen, Kaitlyn Stevens and Angelia Rafter ended their collegiate debut with times of 20:01 and 20:09, respectively.
Junior Morgan Ricci finished in the next minute of the race at 21:30. Rookies Kailyn Accetura (22:31) and Shannon Thompson (23:01) rounded out the opening meet for Central.
In two weekends, the women's cross country team will host its 15th Annual Ted Owen Invitational at Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain, CT. The home meet is slated to start at 11:00 a.m.
