Mendelson Leads Women's Cross Country at IC4A/ECAC Championships Saturday
The Central Connecticut women's cross country placed 12th overall out of 18 teams competing at the IC4A/ECAC Championships at Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, NY on Saturday.
The Central Connecticut women's cross country rounded out its 2016 schedule Saturday, placing 12th overall out of 18 teams competing at the 31st annual IC4A/ECAC Championships at Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, NY. Junior Brittany Mendelson, the 2016 Northeast Conference Individual Champion, finished fourth overall out of 176 runners after clocking a time of 18:48, just two seconds out of third place. The junior has crossed the finish line first for CCSU in every event during the 2016-17 campaign.
Sophomore Madeline Mondo was next in for the Blue Devils, notching a time of 19:18, good for a 19th place in the standings. Close behind Mondo, was sophomore Dawn Hubbell and senior Paxton McNierney. The two runners finished within nine seconds of each other, Hubbell registering a time of 20:08 (71st place) and then McNierney clocking in at 20:17 (81st place).
The final Blue Devil to complete the 5,000 meter course, with a time of 21:56, was sophomore Morgan Ricci.
The IC4A/ECAC Championships is the final meet of the season for the 2016 Central Connecticut women's cross country team.
