Mendelson Wins NEC Cross Country Female Athlete of the Week

The Blue Devils next run at the CCSU Mini Meet on Friday, October 21.

Junior Brittany Mendelson of the Central Connecticut women's cross country team was named the Northeast Conference Female Athlete of the Week on Tuesday after pacing the Blue Devils at the New England Championships at Franklin Park in Boston, MA, over the weekend. Mendelson finished 19th overall out of a total of 234 runners in the event.

Mendelson was the top finisher among all NEC performers in the field after turning in a time of 18:24.5. She helped CCSU finish 13th out of 35 teams.

Mendelson and the rest of the Central Connecticut women's cross country team's next competition is the annual CCSU Mini Meet on Friday, October 21, at 3 p.m. held at Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain, CT.
