Mendelson picks up her second honor of the week after winning the CCSU Mini Meet.

Mendelson Named Corvias ECAC Runner of the Week

Central Connecticut sophomore Brittany Mendelson of the women's cross country team was tabbed the Corvias ECAC Women's Cross Country Co-Runner of the Week on Wednesday. Mendelson was was also named the Northeast Conference Cross Country Athlete of the Week winning the CCSU Mini Meet this past Friday.

Mendelson shared the honor with Mary Malone of Syracuse.

Mendelson crossed the finish line first at Central Connecticut's own CCSU Mini Meet, besting 112 other runners. Mendelson finished the 3K course in a time of 10:12.7. The Southbury, Conn. native led a group of four top-50 finishers for the Blue Devils, who finished fourth as a team at the event.

Mendelson and Central will compete at the 2015 Northeast Conference Championships to be held at Bryant University next weekend. The women's 5K race is set to begin at 12:00 p.m.
