Mike Froehlich Joins Volleyball Staff
Central Connecticut volleyball head coach Alyssa Broccoli has added Mike Froehlich, to her staff for the upcoming season it was announced on Monday. Froehlich comes to Central with previous coaching experience at the Division I level and with numerous club teams.
"I'm very excited to add Mike to my staff and can't wait to begin the season," said Broccoli. "His coaching background, which includes experience as a Division I assistant, will be invaluable."
Froehlich comes to Central after most recently working with the Rogue Volleyball Club in Columbus, OH, since 2021. He worked with coaches on developing team goals throughout the club and worked with athletes and parents to assist with recruiting. He also worked with the club director to provide feedback to help the growth of the club. Froehlich started a men's club volleyball program at the University of Indianapolis in 2021 and was head coach with the team until 2023. His duties involved recruiting athletes to the program, scheduling and budgeting, and he helped integrate the program into the Midwest Plains Volleyball Conference.
Previously, he was the assistant volleyball coach at Indiana University-Purdue University of Indianapolis (IUPUI). During his time at IUPUI, he was involved in all aspects of the program and implemented offensive strategies and coached with the Jaguars from 2019-21. He also gained coaching experience at the Division I level while coaching at Oral Roberts University for two seasons.
He began his coaching career at Lourdes University, where he worked with both the Men's and Women's Volleyball programs as an Assistant Coach. He helped guide both teams to NAIA National Tournament appearances in the 2013-2014 school year. During his time, he helped mentor an AVCA NAIA All-American, an AVCA All-Region honoree, 16 all-conference performers, and 17 athletes who earned academic recognition.
