Volleyball Wins Third Straight, Downs St. Francis Brooklyn, 3-0

Central Connecticut won its third straight Northeast Conference match with a 3-0 win over St. Francis Brooklyn on Saturday. Junior Emma Henderson posted a double-double with 11 kills and 14 digs for the Blue Devils. CCSU plays at Sacred Heart on Friday.

"We knew we had to prepare very well to play against this team [St. Francis Brooklyn]," said head coach Linda Sagnelli. "They have a new coaching staff, a lot of new players, and it's a new dynamic that they have. They've taken steps forward with the new coaching staff. • Central held a 10-5 lead in the opening set before St. Francis scored five unanswered points. Freshman Molly Pincince served four straight points to help CCSU go ahead, 23-16. The Blue Devils took the set on a kill by senior Gala Galabova.
• CCSU took control in the second set, scoring eight straight points with senior Madelyn Kaprelyan serving seven points to go ahead 17-9. Central scored the final three points of the set
• CCSU built a 6-1 lead in the third set and did not trail. A run of seven straight points built the Central lead to 19-9 before kills by junior Samantha McCreath and Kaprelyan ended the match.
