Volleyball Opens Season at Stetson Invitational Friday

The Central Connecticut women's volleyball team will open the 2017 season at the Stetson Invitational on Friday, Aug. 25 and Saturday, Aug. 26, in DeLand, FL. The Blue Devils will face Florida Atlantic on Friday at 11:00 a.m. to open the campaign.

The Blue Devils were tabbed third in the preseason Northeast Conference Coaches Poll and collected a pair of first-place votes. Head coach Linda Sagnelli is one of just two teams in the league to return an All-NEC selection. Sophomore Morgan Woycik won NEC Rookie of the Year and was named to the All-NEC First Team. Senior Maddie Smith and junior Kaitlyn Kushman are also back after starting all 27 games each last season. Senior Lindsey Massicotte is also back after recording 205 digs last season and playing in 25 matches. Junior Raquel Quirarte played in all 27 matches and ranked second on the team with 2.38 kills/set.
