Woycik Earns Weekly Molten/NEC Volleyball Honors

Freshman Morgan Woycik of the Central Connecticut volleyball team was honored by the Northeast Conference it was announced Monday. Woycik led the Blue Devils to a pair of wins to move to 5-0 in league play and was named Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week.
Woycik earned her third NEC Rookie of the Week and her first NEC Player of the Week honor after propelling Central Connecticut to a sweep of Fairleigh Dickinson and Sacred Heart over the weekend. She averaged 3.56 kills per set, recorded a .414 hitting percentage and chipped in with four digs and three blocks.
Woycik hit .444 and posted 15 kills in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Knights, setting up a battle of NEC unbeatens on Sunday. In claiming a 3-2 victory over SHU, the freshman recorded a team-high 17 kills and hit .387 for the match.
Woycik, who has reached double-digit kills in eight matches this season, leads the first place Blue Devils with 2.37 kills per set and has averaged 2.90 kills per set in conference play.
