Volleyball Picked Fifth in NEC Preseason Coaches Poll
Blue Devils open season with CCSU Invitational on August 26-27.
The Central Connecticut volleyball team was picked fifth in the Northeast Conference Preseason Coaches Poll it was announced on Wednesday. Defending champion, Robert Morris, was installed as the preseason favorite by the league's coaches.
The Blue Devils return a veteran roster with five seniors. Central's returnees include senior Rachel Fish, who led the team with 380 digs and 24 aces in 2015, senior Brooke Schwab, who had a team-high 93 blocks, and sophomore Raquel Quirarte, who led the team with 221 kills in 2015.
CCSU opens its season at home in the CCSU Invitational on Friday, August 26. The Blue Devils play Iona on Friday night, before facing Lehigh and Fordham on the second day of the tournament.
