Dean Earns CoSIDA Academic All-District Volleyball Honors
Nicole Dean named to All-District 1 First Team
Junior Nicole Dean of the Central Connecticut volleyball team was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District 1 First Team it was announced on Thursday. Student-athletes named to the first team will be included on the ballot for Academic All-America honors.
Dean currently has a hitting percentage .207 and has 99 kills on the season, an average of 1.65 per set. She ranks third on the team with .98 blocks per set and has 59 total blocks on the season. She has chipped in with four assists, three service aces and 18 digs.
Dead had a season-high 13 kills against George Mason when she also had two service aces and seven total blocks. She had a season-high nine total blocks in a 3-1 win against Cornell.
A standout in the classroom, Dean currently has a 4.0 grade point average in while majoring in Biology.
In order to be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at her current institution.
The Blue Devils host Bryant on Friday night at 6:00 p.m. for Senior Night in their final home match of the season.
