Volleyball Returns Home for CCSU Invitational in Detrick Gym
Central hosts Hartford, Brown and Holy Cross in second home tournament of the season.
The Central Connecticut volleyball team hosts the CCSU Invitational on Friday and Saturday at Detrick Gymnasium. The Blue Devils will play Hartford on Friday at 4 p.m. to open the two-day tournament, while Holy Cross and Brown will play at 7 p.m. The event will continue with four matches on Saturday.

Central returns home after playing at the Jack Kaiser Volleyball Classic last weekend. Senior Makenna Lommori was named the Molten/Northeast Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Monday for her performance in CCSU's four games. Lommori currently leads the NEC with 9.52 assists/game. Freshman Raquel Quirarte earned the league's rookie of the week honors after helping Central to a 3-0 mark in the Blue Devil Classic to open the season. She currently leads the team and conference with 3.78 kills/set. Junior Rachel Fish averages 4.09 digs/set and was named the NEC Defensive Player of the Week on September 8.
This is the final non-conference weekend of play for the Blue Devils before they open Northeast Conference action at home on September 26.
