Volleyball Moves to 2-0 With 3-1 Win Over Bucknell
Quirarte leads the offense with 20 kills
Freshman Raquel Quirarte posted a career-high 20 kills and senior Makenna Lommori had 46 assists as the Central Connecticut volleyball team topped Bucknell 3-1 on Saturday morning in New Britain in the Blue Devil Classic. The Blue Devils are now 2-0 on the season, and will play again at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The Blue Devils won the first set 25-19 but the Bison rebounded to claim the second 25-19 to even the match. Central won the final two sets 27-25 and 25-20 to claim their second straight win to start the 2015 season.
Quirarte's 20 kills topped her 17 that she posted on Friday night in the first collegiate match of her career. She also added nine digs and three blocks assists to lead the Blue Devils. Lommori's 46 assists were a season-high, and she added 14 digs and four kills.
Junior Rachel Fish led the defense with 19 digs as the Blue Devils posted 62 as a team, to go along with one block solo and 18 block assists. Junior Brooke Schwab had six of those block assists, to go along with one solo block.
Central hit .235 as a team with 58 kills in the four-set match. They held Bucknell to a .165 hitting and forced 25 errors by the Bison. Karen Campbell had 14 kills to lead Bucknell.
The Blue Devils return to action at 6:30 p.m. vs. NJIT on Saturday.
