Volleyball Ready for Big Green Invite
The Central Connecticut volleyball team will play four matches at the Big Green Invitational hosted by Dartmouth.
The Central Connecticut volleyball team will head to New Hampshire on Friday to play four matches at the Big Green Invitational hosted by Dartmouth. The Blue Devils will play the host Big Green at 3 p.m. on Friday.
CCSU will follow its match against Dartmouth with a contest against Grand Canyon University at 5:30 p.m. Then on Saturday, the Blue Devils will play Providence at 9:30 a.m. and Manhattan College at 5 p.m.
The Blue Devils (2-4) have posted a 1-2 record at each of the tournament they have entered this season.
A look at CCSU heading into the weekend:
Sophomore Makenna Lommori and freshman Brooke Schwabearned All-Tournament honors at the Colgate Classic in August and sophomore Heather Truemanwas named All-Tournament at the Sacramento State Invitational last weekend.
In addition, Schwab has earned a pair of NEC weekly honors. She was named Molten/NEC Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 3, and rookie of the week on Sept. 9.
The match against Grand Canyon will be the first ever meeting between the programs. As GCU is in its first year of Division I competition.
