Rademacher Earns Molten/NEC Player of the Week
Junior Jamie Rademacher had 28 kills and a .571 hitting percentage last week.
Central Connecticut junior Jamie Rademacher was named Molten/Northeast Conference Volleyball Player of the Week on Monday afternoon. The junior led her squad to a pair of victories over the weekend. The first secured a playoff berth for the Blue Devils and the second moved her team into third place in the NEC standings.
Rademacher accumulated 28 kills in seven sets for a 4.0 kills per game average. But what was most impressive about the junior's weekend was her hitting percentage. In the Blue Devil's Saturday matchup with Saint Francis (PA), Rademacher posted a blistering .833 hitting percentage and followed by hitting .571 on Sunday against Robert Morris for a .650 percentage on the weekend.
The Illinois native has hit .363 on the season, good for second in the league. Additionally, she contributed seven blocks last week, including five in Saturday's win 3-0 win over the Red Flash.
Rademacher and the Blue Devils (19-9, 10-4 NEC) will close regular season play this weekend with a pair of NEC matches. On Saturday, the Blue Devils will square off with St. Francis (NY) before heading to first place Long Island on Sunday.
The NEC Tournament will be played on November 19 and 20, and will be hosted by the tournament's top seed.
