Volleyball Stopped by Bryant, 3-1
The volleyball team fell on the road at Bryant Sunday.
The Central Connecticut volleyball team fell to Bryant in four sets on Sunday evening. The 3-1 loss drops the Blue Devils to 6-4 in Northeast Conference action and 14-9 overall on the season. The Blue Devils were led by juniors Jamie Rademacher and Emily Cochran who each recorded nine kills in the match.
The Blue Devils captured the opening set by a score of 25-22. Cochran and senior Sara DeLacey each posted five kills in the set, with Rademacher recording three kills. DeLacey and freshman Emma Le Maitre led the defense as the duo combined on a pair of blocks.
Central dropped the next three sets (25-20, 25-10, 25-14) to drop the match.
Freshman Brittany Schumacher finished with 21 digs, a match-high, and senior Danielle Gasser had a team-high 33 assists. DeLacey also contributed to five of the Blue Devils 14 blocks.
The Blue Devils will return to action on Wednesday night. They will host Hartford at Detrick Gym, that match will begin at 7 p.m.
