Volleyball Falls to Northeastern
The Central Connecticut volleyball team fell to Northeastern in the final game of the Beanpot Classic on Saturday afternoon. The Blue Devils took the first set 28-26, before dropping the next three 25-11, 25-16 and 25-17.
The Central Connecticut volleyball team fell to Northeastern in the final game of the Beanpot Classic on Saturday afternoon. The Blue Devils took the first set 28-26, before dropping the next three 25-11, 25-16 and 25-17. Junior Jamie Rademacher posted a team-high .529 hitting percentage in the match.
Rademacher broke a 26-26 tie in the first set with a kill. She then teamed up with senior Sara DeLacey for a block, which gave the Blue Devils a 28-26 victory. Rademacher finished the set with four kills.
The Huskies took control of the match after the first set. Winning three straight sets, but the Blue Devils continued to compete throughout the match.
Rademacher finished with a team-high 10 kills and .529 hitting percentage. Junior Jennifer Waddill posted nine kills, DeLacey finished with eight kills and juniors Blaike King and Emily Cochran each had seven. Senior Danielle Gasser had match-high 36 assists.
The Blue Devils will return to action on Friday at the George Washington University Tournament. They will play North Carolina Central, Delaware State and George Washington.
All-Tournament Team
Juniors Jamie Rademacher and Emily Cochran were named to the All-Tournament Team for the Beanpot Classic after the second match today.
Rademacher and Cochran join Jillian Briner and Nicole Bishop of Northeastern, Hannah Grace Stokes and Kathleen Colpoys of Holy Cross and Kelsey Semler and Meghan Alger of Fairliegh Dickinson.
