Track and Field Competes at New England Championships

Several members of the CCSU track and field team competed at the NEICAAA Championship at Northeastern University in Dedham, MA this weekend.

Several members of the CCSU track and field team competed at the NEICAAA Championship at Northeastern University in Dedham, MA this weekend.  

TRACK HIGHLIGHTS  

  • Juliana Cancellieri competed in the 5,000m race, crossing the finish line in 19:31.75. 

  • Kaylee Gravel represented the Blue Devils in the 800m run, finishing in 2:23.59. 

  • Alexandria Klopfer ran the 3,000m steeplechase in 12:19.64 to place 16th. 

  • Elias Field (31:42.08), Mark Rodriguez (31:50.99 - collegiate best), and Calvin Young (32:46.73 - collegiate best) competed in the 10,000m race, finishing ninth, 11th, and 20th, respectively. 

FIELD HIGHLIGHTS 

  • Marina Perry placed 16th in the shot put with a 12.05m throw. She also competed in the discus event, taking 13th with a 40.87m effort. 

  • Andrew McCarthy took eighth in the discus throw with a 48.86m toss, while Tyrone Mack placed 15th with a 43.98m throw. 

  • Mack also competed in the shot put, finishing 11th with a 15.63m effort. Ed Radzion placed 20th in the event (14.37m).
