Women's Track and Field Competes at UConn Northeast Challenge

CCSU women’s track and field competed at the UConn Northeast Challenge meet in Storrs, CT. Brooke Morabito also represented the Blue Devils at the Larry Ellis Invitational in Princeton, NJ.

CCSU women's track and field competed at the UConn Northeast Challenge meet in Storrs, CT. Brooke Morabito also represented the Blue Devils at the Larry Ellis Invitational in Princeton, NJ. 

TRACK HIGHLIGHTS 

  • Morabito competed in the 5,000m race at the Larry Ellis Invitational, hosted by Princeton University. She finished seventh in the event with a time of 16:48.51. 

  • Maegan Desmarais (11:00.52) and Alexandria Klopfer (12:24.79) took second and third in the 3,000m steeplechase, respectively.  

  • Julianna Cancellieri competed in the 5,000m race, crossing the finish line in 18:49.37 to take 12th place. 

  • Magnalen Camara placed 17th in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:05.91. 

  • CCSU's 4x100m relay, consisting of Nuchwara Inthasit, Camara, Kalesha Darisme, and Tamara Rawles, finished in 48.36 to snag the 10th place spot. 

FIELD HIGHLIGHTS 

  • Alissa Hurd placed seventh in the high jump, leaping for 1.65m. 

  • Aaliyah Walker competed in the triple jump, leaping 11.37m to take 12th place. 

  • Sarah Ovesny placed 16th in the javelin throw with a 30.03m toss.
