Morabito & Rafter Take Home First Place Finishes at the NEICAAA Indoor Championships

Women's track and field competed in day two of the 2023 NEICAAA Indoor Championships today at the TRACK at New Balance in Boston, MA. The Blue Devils ended up taking home two first place finishes, one from Angie Rafter in the mile and the other from Brooke Morabito in the 5000m run. The women placed ninth out of 24 teams, scoring 33 points. 

FINAL RESULTS 

• Magnalen Camara finished 7th in the 400m dash with a time of 59.02. Camara also finished 8th in the women's 200m dash (25.88). 

• Ashley Dana placed 6th overall in the 800m race after crossing the finish line in 2:21.71 this afternoon.  

• Angie Rafter won the women's mile with a time of 4:42.25, finishing a full 18 seconds in front of the second-place runner. 

• The women's 4x400m relay (Tamara Rawles, Ashley Dana, Kaylee Gravel, and Magnalen Camara) finished in 3:58.86, good for seventh place. 

ICYMI - Day One Highlights: 

• Magnalen Camara earned a spot in the 400m dash final, finishing eighth in prelims with a time of 58.84. She snagged a second finals slot after finishing seventh in the 200m dash prelim (25.64).  

• Ashley Dana ran the 800m race in 2:20.47, placing third to secure a spot in the finals.  

• Brooke Morabito won the women's 5000m run with a time of 16:52.24.  

• Alissa Hurd finished fourth in the high jump, leaping for 1.65m.
