Blue Devils Place 2nd out of 5 at AIC Invite
Central racked up 106 points in Springfield on Saturday.
The Central Connecticut women's track and field team placed second out of five teams at the AIC Yellow Jacket Invitational on Saturday. The Blue Devils recorded 106 points, which was shy of Adelphi's 143.5 points. Franklin Pierce finished third, followed by AIC in fourth and Bently in fifth.

Senior Hailey Rospierski, the reigning NEC Track Athlete of the Week, dominated the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.41 and took first place.

Rospierski also placed first in the high jump event, with a mark of 1.62m in the finals. She earned a total of 28 points in three different events in the afternoon.

Ashley Dana took gold in the 1500 meter run, beating out teammate Angie Rafter who placed second. Dana ran a time of 4:43.3 and Rafter clocked in at 4:46.57. Freshman Brooke Morabito took the bronze in the event at 4:48.51. The trio collected 24 points for the Blue Devils.

Junior Kaitlyn Stevens earned 10 points for CCSU with her first place finish in the 10000 meter dash, coming in with a time of 37:48.51.

The team of Hailey Rospierski, Magnalen Camara, Kaylia Bailey, and Beverly Okoronkwo took silver in the 4 x 100 relay.

Freshman Magnalen Camara placed second in the 400 meter dash, coming in with a time of 1:01.81. She finished just four seconds behind the winner, but earned 8 points for CCSU.
