Women's Track Breaks Two School Records During Day Two of the ECAC Championships
Sierra Nesmith and Dawn Hubbell set new program records.
At day two of the IC4A/ECAC Championships, seniors Sierra Nesmith and Dawn Hubbell set new school records on Saturday inside the BU Track and Tennis Center.
IC4A/ECAC CHAMPIONSHIPS DAY TWO RESULTS
Nesmith recorded a time of 55.30 seconds in the 400-meter dash, finishing in ninth place and qualifying for the finals. She set a new personal best in the event and surpassed the previous school record of 55.70 seconds set by assistant coach Nicole Dumpson in 2004.
Hubbell broke the CCSU 5,000-meter record with a time of 17:02.81 for a 13th place finish. The senior surpassed the previous record of 17:20.26 held by Krisztina Dearborn since 2013. The time was also a personal best for Hubbell.
Junior Hailey Rospierski completed the 60-meter hurdles in 9.13 seconds but would not qualify for the semi-finals.
Nesmith will compete in the triple jump at 12 p.m. and the 400-meter dash finals at 12:25 p.m. on Sunday.
