Women's Track and Field Close Out at New England Championships Saturday
Nesmith, Rospierski post personal records for CCSU.
Junior Sierra Nesmith led the Central Connecticut women's indoor track and field team with the highest individual finish on the team at the 2018 New England Championships on Saturday at the Reggie Lewis Track Center in Boston, MA. Nesmith took sixth place in the triple jump jump of 11.47 meters.
Sophomore Hailey Rospierski placed 10th overall in the 60 meter hurdles and set a new personal record of 9.05 seconds, besting her old fastest time of 9.07 seconds set at the Wagner Invite earlier this year. Rospierski also jumped 1.61 meter in the high jump to tie for 15th place.
Freshman Angie Rafter placed 15th in the 800 meter run with a personal record time of 2:18.82.
Rosperiski, sophomore Megan Brawner, Rafter, and Nesmith ran a time of 4:11.17 in the 4x400 meter relay to round out the competitions for the women.
The Blue Devils will next compete on Friday, February 9 at Boston University's David Hemery Invite.
