Mendelson Makes School History in 10K at ECAC Championships
Brittany Mendelson breaks the four year old 10K CCSU school record at the ECAC Championships on Friday.
Central Connecticut's indoor 3K and outdoor 5K school record holder, junior Brittany Mendelson, added her name to the women's track and field history books once again Friday, May 12th at the ECAC Championships at Princeton. Mendelson finished in eighth place at 35:38.79 surpassing Krisztina Dearborn's four year old outdoor 10,000 meter run record of 35:49.81 ('13).
Mendelson set the 3K indoor record, 9:57.86, at the John Thomas Terrier Invitational, and finished with the fastest outdoor 5K time in program history of 17:01.23 at the Mt. Sac Relays.
Sophomore Dawn Hubbell ran a collegiate best time of 36:32.81 to place 14th overall to begin the ECAC Championships for the Blue Devils. Hubbell impressively cut 43.73 seconds off of her previous fastest time of 37:15.53 set last weekend at the 2017 Northeast Conference Finals.
Up north in Williamstown, MA sophomore Madeline Mondo will run in the 3K steeplechase at 12:15 p.m. as CCSU's lone female competitor.
