Nesmith Sets Personal Record, Wolliston Finishes 11th at Georgia Tech on Friday
Sophomore Sierra Nesmith cut 1.69 seconds off of her previous 100 meter hurdle personal record on Friday at Georgia Tech.
The reigning 2017 NEC Indoor Triple Jump Champion, sophomore Sierra Nesmith represented the Central Connecticut women's outdoor track and field team alongside senior Melissa Wolliston in the 100 meter hurdles at the Georgia Tech Invitational on Friday, April 21.
Nesmith crushed her previous fastest time of 16.47, set back in 2016 at the CCSU Blue Devil Invite, with a new mark of 14.78 to take 25th place. Wolliston impressively took 11th place out of a field of 41 runners in Atlanta, GA after crossing the finish line at 14.42.
The dynamic duo will compete on Saturday at 1:15 p.m. in the 400 meter hurdles.
The rest of the Central Connecticut women's track team will compete tomorrow, Saturday, April 22 at Princeton for the Larry Ellis Invitational. Field and track events begin at 11:00 a.m.
