Terry Places Fifth; Women's Indoor Track and Field Competes at NEICAAA Championships
Three select Blue Devils competed for the CCSU women's indoor track and field team on Friday and Saturday at the New England Indoor Track and Field Championships in Boston, MA.
Three select Blue Devils competed for the Central Connecticut women's indoor track and field team on Friday and Saturday at the New England Indoor Track and Field Championships. Senior Chelse Terry logged a fifth place finish in the weight throw and junior Sarah Hicks advanced to the the semi-finals in the 60 meter hurdles to highlight the meet for CCSU. The regional meet was held the BU Track and Tennis Center in Boston, MA.
OFFICIAL RESULTS
Senior Chelse Terry recorded a fifth place finish out of 23 competitors in the weight throw for the Blue Devils, tossing the weight 15.94 meters. The distance and fifth place finish earned Central its four points scored at the meet as they finished 26th out of 32 teams.
Sarah Hicks logged a time of 9.05 in the 60 meter hurdles prelims on Friday, good for a 10th place finish, and qualified to compete in the semi-finals on Saturday. The junior followed with a time of 9.06 in the semi-final round to finish 10th overall in the event.
Junior Taylor Boncal competed in the 500 meter dash at the NEICAAA Championships for Central and she clocked in a time of 1:18.42 in the preliminary round . The result earned her a 12th place finish out of 31 in the race.
Select members of the CCSU women's indoor track and field team will return to action next as they compete in the ECAC Championships next weekend on Saturday and Sunday, Mar. 5-6, also held at the BU Track and Tennis Center in Boston, MA.
