Eberhardt Named NEC Athlete of the Week
Senior posted time of 10:46.77 in steeplechase over the weekend
Senior Elizabeth Eberhardt was named the Northeast Conference Track Athlete of the Week on Tuesday, it was announced by the league office.
The veteran distance runner has built a wide lead over the Northeast Conference in the 3,000m steeple chase. Contesting the event for the second time this season, Eberhardt crossed the line in 10:46.77 at Princeton's Larry Ellis Invitational.
The time, which is nearly 20 seconds faster than the mark she registered at the Sam Howell Invitational on April 3, qualified Eberhardt for the ECAC Championships in May.
Currently ranked amongst the top-70 leaders in the NCAA Division I East Region, Eberhardt could threaten the NEC Outdoor Championships meet record (10:35.47) in two weeks.
