Dearborn Named NEC Track Athlete of the Week
Senior finished third at the Bison Outdoor Classic
Central Connecticut senior Krisztina Dearborn was named the Northeast Conference women's track athlete of the week on Tuesday.
Dearborn ran one of the 50-fastest 10,000m times on the NCAA Division I East Region leader board this past weekend. Contesting the Bison Outdoor Classic in Lewisburg, PA, the veteran Blue Devil crossed the line in 36:17.68 to finish third overall.
Her bronze medal-winning time was more than one full minute under the qualifying standard for the ECAC Championships. The performance, which ranks 42nd overall in the East Region, moved Dearborn into second place on the NEC's top times list behind Sacred Heart's Liz Hutchins, who held the NEC Women's Track Athlete of Week award for the first week in April.
