Trio Compete at IC4A/ECAC Championships on Saturday
Three Blue Devils competed at the IC4A/ECAC Championships on Saturday.
Three members of the Central Connecticut women's indoor track and field team competed on the first day of competition at the IC4A/ECAC Championships on Saturday. The two-day championships are being held inside the BU Track and Tennis Center at Boston University.
IC4A/ECAC Championship Results
Senior Ronea Saunders led the way for the Blue Devils at the meet, recording the highest finish for CCSU on the day. Saunders cracked the top-10 in the high jump finals with a ninth place finish out of 16 competitors. The Wallingford product cleared 1.68 meters on her second attempt to record the finish.
Junior thrower, Chelse Terry, logged a 16th place finish in the weight throw finals for CCSU on Saturday. Terry launched the weight 15.51 meters on her second throw to pick up the finish.
Sophomore Brittany Mendelson was the only Blue Devil to compete on the track for Central at the championships. Mendelson logged a 21st overall finish in the mile run prelims, crossing the finish line with a final time of 5:00.36.
The Blue Devils were unable to qualify anyone for the finals on Sunday and the IC4A/ECAC meet marks the end of the indoor season for CCSU. Central will resume action with the beginning of its outdoor season.
