Women's Track Competes at Princeton Saturday
Three Blue Devils competed at Princeton, Yale results will be posted on CCSUBlueDevils.com when they become available.
The Central Connecticut women's track and field team competed in two competitions this weekend including the Larry Ellis Invitational hosted by Princeton University and the Mark Young Invitational hosted by Yale.

Three Blue Devils represented CCSU at the Larry Ellis Invitational Saturday including senior Shelby Tuttle, sophomore Alyssa Gonzalez and junior Ronea Saunders.
Tuttle finished first in her heat, fifth overall, in the 400m hurdles. She registered a new career-best time of 1:03.34 in the event and was followed closely by Gonzalez in 1:03.94.
Tuttle also raced in the 100m hurdles where she finished 14th overall clocking a time of 14.92.
In the 200m dash, Gonzalez finished 30th in a field of 50 with her time of 26.20.
Saunders, the CCSU high-jump record holder, competed in the event at Princeton. She tied for seventh with her height of 1.65m.
Central also competed at Yale on Saturday where they finished seventh out of 11 squads.
Highlights from Saturday's competition at Yale include career-best marks by freshman Melissa Wolliston and Sarah Hicks in the 100m hurdles. Wolliston placed ninth overall with her time of 15.07, followed by Hicks in 18th with a time of 16.16.
Freshman Sherise Truman also bested her own personal records on Saturday. She crossed the finish line eighth in the 100m dash with a new career-best time of 12.52 seconds and also surpassed her previous career-best in the 200m. She crossed the line seventh out of 31 sprinters with her time of 25.56 in the event.
Three Blue Devils finished on each other's heels in the 400m hurdles. Wolliston claimed sixth (1:08.39) followed by junior Jenean McCalla (8th, 1:11.65) and freshman Brittany Williams (9th, 1:14.42).
CCSU also performed well in the distance events. Junior Taylor LePage earned a silver medal in the 800m run with her time of 2:16.38. She was followed by freshman Jazmin Booker who placed 13th in the field of 31 with her time of 2:24.13.
Three more Blue Devils earned top five performances on the day. Sophomore Ally Gates finished fourth in the 3,000m steeplechase with her time of 11:15.20. Also, freshman Brandy LeClair finished placed fourth in the 5,000m run (19:28.92). She was followed in fifth by freshman Victoria Cronin (19:43.33).
Dartmouth claimed the overall win with 113.50 team points followed by Brown in second with 111.16. Rhode Island took third (108.50) while Yale (98.33) and New Haven (74.0) rounded out the top five. CCSU finished seventh with 36 points.
The Blue Devils are scheduled to return to the track this Saturday, April 26, when they travel to New Hampshire and Jacksonville, FL.
