Blue Devils Compete at Penn Relays
Four athletes from Central represented the women's track & field team.
Representing the Blue Devils for the Central Connecticut women's track & field team at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, PA this weekend are seniors Alasia Griebel and Amanda Asaro, sophomore Elizabeth Eberhardt, and freshman Ronea Saunders.
The Penn Relays are being held at Frankling Field on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania. Competition will start Thursday, April 26th and conclude on Saturday, April 28th.
Central's DMR team made up of Griebel, Asaro, Eberhardt, and Saunders finished with a time of 11:59.12 to place 11th. Villanova claimed gold in the event with a time of (11:01.03).
Saunders also competed in the field for the Blue Devils posting a 1.68m (5'6.00") mark in the high jump, good for a seventh place tie. Saunders finished behind NEC rival jumper Alison Day from Monmouth who placed fifth.
