Swimming and Diving Drops Home Dual Meet to Northeastern
Blue Devils will host LIU Brooklyn Next Saturday on Senior Day
The Central Connecticut women's swimming and diving team dropped a home dual meet to Northeastern on Saturday by the score of 147-90. Junior Valentina Gomez posted a first and second place finish in the meet, winning the 1,000 yard freestyle in a time of 10:41.27 to earn nine points for her team.
The Blue Devils began the day with a second place finish in the 200 yard medley relay. The team of senior Kaitlyn Troy, freshman Mariana Espino, sophomore Katelyn Mann and freshman Jeannette King finished with a time of 1:46.92 to grab four points.
Freshman Katie Czulewicz placed second in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:56.58. Junior Grace Fredricks was fifth in 1:58.94 and sophomore Ivy Milne was sixth in 2:10.79 for the Blue Devils.
Freshman Simona Visinski placed fourth in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 25.07. Classmate Destiny Johnson was fifth in 25.46 and sophomore Erin Brown was sixth in 26.33.
Junior Gracie Regan placed second in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:12.82. Junior Alexis Fredricks was fourth in 2:13.56.
The Blue Devils placed fifth, sixth and seventh in the 1 meter diving event. Nicolle White led the Blue Devils with a score of 126.15.
Gome was second in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 58.27. Mann was fifth in 1:01.24 and freshman Hallie Perrin finished sixth in 1:03.84.
Visinski finished second in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 54.02, while Czulewicz was third in 54.65 and Grace Fredricks was fifth in 55.89.
Troy finished second in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 58.79. Alexis Fredricks was fourth in 1:00.10 and King fifth in 1:00.42.
Junior Erika Maercklein finished second in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:11.12. Senior Aidan Devers was fourth in 5:14.29 and junior Keelin Kendall was sixth in 5:29.05.
Lauren Wilcox led the Blue Devils in the 3 meter diving with a score of 114.45.
Espino (1:08.82), Lindgren (1:09.83) and Mann (1:10.08) paced the Blue Devils in the 100 yard breaststroke.
The team of King, Visinski, Troy and Czulewicz swam the 200 yard freestyle in a time of 1:40.64 to lead CCSU.
The Blue Devils are back home next weekend hosting LIU Brooklyn on Senior Day on Saturday at 12 p.m.
