Swim and Diving Competes at Florida International on Saturday
Blue Devils return home on Jan. 26 vs. Northeastern
The Central Connecticut women's swimming and diving team returned to action on Saturday on the road at Florida International. The Blue Devils dropped the dual meet by a score of 127.5-67.5.
Central placed third and fourth in the 200 yard medley relay. The team of senior Kaitlyn Troy, freshman Mariana Espino, junior Valentina Gomez and freshman Jeannette King finished third with a time of 1:53.36. The team of junior Alexis Fredricks, freshman Alex Lindgren, sophomore Katelyn Mann and freshman Destiny Johnson was fourth with a time of 1:56.20.
Junior Keelin Kendall placed fifth in the 1,000 yard freestyle with a time of 11:13.43.
Junior Erika Maercklein finished third in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:56.67. Freshman Katie Czulewicz was fourth in 1:58.48 while freshman Simona Visinski was sixth in a time of 2:00.44.
CCSU's King tied for second in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 25.00. Troy was fifth in 25.58 and Johnson finished seventh in 26.43.
Senior Aidan Devers was fifth in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:16.88. Lindgren was sixth in 2:17.60 and Alexis Fredricks was seventh in 2:17.64.
Gomez finished second in the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:08.37.
Visinski finished second in the 100 yard freestyle in 54.82 while Czulewicz was third in 55.50 and Maercklein fourth in 55.62.
Devers finished second in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:08.89. Alexis Fredricks posted a time of 2:09.69 while freshman Hallie Perrin came in in 2:18.34.
Gomez won the 500 yard freestyle in 5:15.23 while junior Gracie Regan was second in 5:18.66. Lindgren placed second in the 200 yard breaststroke with a time of 2:27.65. Regan came in in 2:28.87 and Mann finished in 2:33.05.
The 200 yard freestyle relay team of Troy, Czulewicz, Visinski and King finished in second place with a time of 1:41.61.
The Blue Devils return to action at home on Jan. 26 hosting Northeastern.
