Swimming Completes Tri-Meet with Bryant and Wagner on Saturday
Gomez and Lindgren each post victories on Saturday
The Central Connecticut women's swimming and diving team completed the second and final day of a tri-meet on the road with Bryant and Wagner.
The Blue Devils opened day two with a fourth place finish in the 200 yard medley relay. The team of junior Alexis Fredricks, freshman Mariana Espino, sophomore Katelyn Mann and senior Kaitlyn Troy posted a time of 1:53.42.
Senior Aidan Devers finished second in the 400 yard IM wih a time of 4:42.53. Junior Gracie Regan was third in 4:43.91 and freshman Alex Lindgren was fourth in 4:45.59.
Freshman Jeannette King finished fourth in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 55.12, while classsmate Katie Czulewicz was fifth in 55.18.
Devers finished third in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:07.34. Fredricks was fourth in 2:11.15 and freshman Hallie Perrin was sixth in 2:13.59.
Junior Valentina Gomez finished second in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 59.16. She then won the 500 yard freestyle in 5:12.09, more than six seconds faster than the second place finisher. Devers was third in the same event in 5:21.83.
Lindgren won the 200 yard breaststroke with a time of 2:26.25 while Regan was sixth in 2:32.00
The Blue Devils were third in the 400 yard freestyle relay. The team of Czulewicz, Troy, Gomez and King finished with a time of 3:43.74.
