Swimming and Diving Completes Day Two at Frank Elm Invite at Rutgers
Blue Devils will finish the weekend invitational on Sunday
The Central Connecticut women's swimming and diving team completed the second day of competition at the Frank Elm Invitational on Saturday.
The night began with an eighth place finish in the 200 yard medley relay. The team of junior Kaitlyn Troy, senior Maddy Garber, sophomore Valentina Gomez and senior Lauren Czulewicz swam a time of 1:44.83. The team of junior Aidan Devers, sophomore Erika Maercklein, sophomore Grace Fredricks and sophomore Alexis Fredricks swam 1:49.51 and finished in 23rd place in the same event.
Devers finished second in the B final of the 400 yard individual medley with a time of 4:27.37. She finished 10th overall. Sophomore Gracie Regan was second in the C final with a time of 4:32.22, good for 18th place overall.
Gomez finished 22nd overall and sixth in the C final in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 57.68. Czulewicz was 30th overall in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:55.76.
Garber finished sixth overall in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time o 1:03.32. Maercklein was 23rd in the same event in 1:06.92.
Alexis Fredricks finished 19th overall and third in the C final of the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 57.64. Troy was 24th in 1:00.12.
The Blue Devils ended the night with a 15th place finish in the 800 yard freestyle relay. Maercklein, Regan, Czulewicz and Devers finished in 7:44.98. The team of Gomez, Troy, Alexis Fredricks and Grace Fredricks was 21st in 7:54.67.
