Swimming and Diving Announces 2015-16 Schedule

The Central Connecticut women's swimming and diving team announced its 2015-16 schedule on Tuesday.  The Blue Devils are coming off their fourth Northeast Conference Championship in 2015, and will face a strong schedule beginning in the middle of October.

"We continue to pride ourselves on swimming one of the strongest schedules in the region," Head Coach Bill Ball said.  "Our goal every year is to peak at the conference championship and this schedule will allow us to do that.  We're excited to swim at home five times during the season, against very solid competition."

The Blue Devils will face two conference champions (Florida Gulf Coast, LIU Post), five conference runners-up (Yale, UConn, Wagner, New Hampshire and Liberty) during the season, and also three NCAA Championship scoring teams.  North Carolina State, who finished 17th, and Florida Gulf Coast, who finished 26th in the Division I Championship, and LIU Post who finished seventh at the Division II Championship, are all on the schedule. 

Central's home meets will take place on Oct. 31 (New Hampshire), Nov. 6 (Bryant), Nov. 14 (Vermont), Jan. 23 (LIU Brooklyn) and Jan. 30 (Sacred Heart) as well as the Blue Devil Diving Invite on Oct. 24.

"We're coming off a tremendous season in 2014-15, and we're confident that this schedule will give us the best chance to defend our NEC title in 2015-16," Ball added.  "We're excited to continue working towards that goal."
