Dwyer Tabbed NEC Diver of the Week
Senior Kaitlyn Dwyer was named NEC Diver of the Week by the league on Tuesday afternoon.
Senior Kaitlyn Dwyer of the Central Connecticut women's swimming and diving team was named Northeast Conference Diver of the Week, the league announced Tuesday. Dwyer and the Blue Devils dominated this past weekend at Fairfield in a tri-meet with Fairfield and NEC foe Sacred Heart. Central topped Fairfield 84-29 and Sacred Heart 95-16.
Dwyer led the way for the Blue Devils from the diving board at the tri-meet with host Fairfield and Sacred Heart last Sunday. Dwyer recorded top-three finishes in the 1 and 3-meter boards, including a first place finish off the 3-meter board at the meet. She dove to a career-best score of 252.30 in six dive attempts from the 3-meter board to earn the gold. The score is also the best score of the season from any Blue Devil diver from the 3-meter height. On the 1-meter board Dwyer took the bronze with a total score of 210.90, just 4.90 points behind the first place diver.
