Erica Bardes Wins NEC Player of the Week
After an impressive start to the season, senior defender Erica Bardes took home Northeast Conference Player of the Week honors on Tuesday for women's soccer.
Over CCSU's two games this past week, Bardes has tallied two assists and a goal. The senior is tied with junior Roma McLaughlin for most points on the team (five) and leads the Blue Devils in assists.
Bardes has been exceptional at sharing the ball for the duration of her time at CCSU. She has led the team in assists for the past two seasons, grabbing three last year and eight the year prior.
Bardes' two assists propelled CCSU to its 2-1 victory over Albany. She opened up the next game against New Hampshire with a first half goal that helped CCSU land a 2-1 win.
This is far from the first time Bardes has been recognized for her accomplishments, both on the field and off.
She has been named First-Team All-NEC for the past two seasons with the Blue Devils and was named to the All-North Region team last year, anchoring a defense that allowed only one goal during the regular season/NEC postseason. In the classroom, Bardes was awarded the President's Citation Award last year along with being named an NEC Fall Scholar-Athlete and Woman's Scholar All-American Third Team.
