Lavoie Earns NEC Accolade

Freshman honored for her performance in 4-2 win over Quinnipiac

Freshman forward Julie Lavoie was named the adidas/Northeast Conference women's soccer Rookie of the Week on Tuesday, it was announced by the league office.  Lavoie and the Blue Devils finished their regular season on Friday night with a 4-2 home victory over Quinnipiac.

Lavoie ended her freshman campaign in impressive fashion, posting one goal and one assist in the Blue Devils' 4-2 triumph over Quinnipiac on Friday night to earn her first Rookie of the Week honor this season.

The goal was her second of the season and the assist was her third, giving her seven points on the year, third on the club.

The Blue Devils ended the 2011 campaign with the home win on Friday night.  They finished 5-7-5 overall, including 4-2-1 at home.
