Danbury, CT, native and former Villanova University assistant coach Princess Livingston has been named the head women's lacrosse coach at Central Connecticut State University, it was announced by Director of Athletics Paul Schlickmann.  Livingston spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach at Villanova.

"We are very excited to name Princess Livingston as our new Head Coach of women's lacrosse and welcome her to the Blue Devil Athletics family," Schlickmann said.  "She brings valuable experiences as a former Division I student-athlete and current assistant coach, a reputation as an effective recruiter and a proven ability to develop players and programs."

Livingston is a 2012 graduate of Villanova and was a four-year member of its women's lacrosse program.  A three-year starter, she played both the midfield and defense positions and was a member of the Big East Honor Roll during her time with the Wildcats. 

Livingston is a 2008 graduate of Danbury High School and led her team to a state Division II title in her senior season and she was named the Most Valuable Player.  She was also an All-Conference and All-State selection while at Danbury.

"I am tremendously excited for the opportunity to lead the women's lacrosse program at Central Connecticut," Livingston said.  "I want to thank Paul Schlickmann and Amy Strickland (Associate AD/SWA) for their confidence in me to lead this great group of young ladies.  I'm looking forward to the challenge and can't wait to get started."

Livingston will begin at Central Connecticut on September 16.

"Princess impressed everyone with her positive energy, her keen perspective on CCSU and a shared core belief in athletics as a vehicle for personal growth and success," Schlickmann added.  "As a Connecticut native and former high school player in Danbury, she has unique perspective and passion for the continued development of lacrosse in the state and certainly at CCSU.  She will be a positive role model and mentor to our student-athletes and will work tirelessly to continue the forward progress of our Women's Lacrosse program."

Prior to returning to Villanova in 2014, Livingston was an assistant coach at Mount Olive, helping to begin their women's lacrosse program.  She also spent one season at Mercer University.

"I am looking forward to coming home to Connecticut and helping bring this program back to the Northeast Conference Tournament," Livingston said.  "We're going to begin that process today, and I know that the team is ready to continue the hard work they have put in this off-season and so far this fall.  I am excited to be a Blue Devil and can't wait to get to work."

Livingston spent the last two seasons at Villanova, helping her alma mater reach the Big East Tournament in 2015.  The Wildcats had a player named Big East Attacker of the Year and four players were named All-Conference.  The trip to the Big East Tournament was the first for Villanova in its program's history.

She spent last season as the recruiting coordinator, as well as assisting in film breakdown, individual instruction and team travel.

Before her time at Villanova, Livingston helped Mount Olive start their women's lacrosse program in 2013.  During the first season the team finished 9-7, marking just the seventh time in NCAA Division II history that a program posted a winning record in its first year. Mount Olive made an appearance in the Conference Carolinas Tournament that year.

Livingston went on to be a graduate assistant coach at Mercer University in 2014 and as the recruiting coordinator she helped sign 20 incoming freshman student-athletes to another new program.
