Lacrosse Honors Seniors In Final Home Game
Efron, Lecci, Poropat and Santos played their final home game on Saturday.
The Central Connecticut State lacrosse team played its final home game of the regular season on Saturday, falling 17-5 to visiting Northeast Conference foe Wagner College. The Blue Devils fall to 2-11 overall and 2-5 in league play, while the Seahawks improve to 6-6 on the season and 6-1 in NEC action.
Prior to the game the Blue Devils recognized their four seniors, Alexa Efron, Mikayla Lecci, An Poropat and Bella Santos.
The Blue Devils return to action next Saturday, travelling to NEC foe Mercyhurst on April 19th. Game time is 1:00 pm
KEY MOMENTS
- Wagner scored three goals in the first quarter, to take a 3-0 advantage
- Makayla Winegar tallied an 8-meter goal 1:46 into the second period to put the Blue Devils on the board
- Ella Marino netted back-to-back goals as part of a three-goal Wagner run that made the score 6-1 with 2:12 to play in the first-half
- Santos drove down the middle and scored, unassisted, with 52 seconds left in the second, to make the deficit 6-2 at intermission
