Cannon and Santos join Hurlburt as NEC Prime Performers

Central Connecticut State rookie attacker Katie Hurlburt was named the Northeast Conference Lacrosse Rookie of the Week on Monday. She was also named an NEC Prime Performer, along with senior teammate Bella Santos and junior Abbey Cannon.

Hurlburt, a native of Ellington, CT, tallied five points to help the Blue Devils to a win over visiting NEC opponent Delaware State on Saturday. She tied for a game-high with four goals, while also recording an assist. Hurlburt added two draw controls and picked up a ground ball in the victory.

Cannon led all scorers on Saturday with seven points. She netted a hat trick and handed out four assists to earn her recognition. Santos contributed five points as well, with four goals to her credit.

The Blue Devils are back in action on Wednesday, April 9th when they travel to LIU. That NEC contest is set for 3:00 pm.
