Women’s Lacrosse Hosts Saint Francis U & Robert Morris
The Central Connecticut women’s lacrosse team will host Saint Francis U and Robert Morris this weekend at Arute Field.
The Central Connecticut women's lacrosse team will host its first home Northeast Conference games of the 2014 season this weekend at Arute Field. The Blue Devils (4-7, 1-1 NEC) will open the weekend by hosting Saint Francis U (4-6, 1-1 NEC) at Arute Field on Friday night at 7 p.m. CCSU will the welcome the Robert Morris Colonials (8-3, 2-0 NEC) on Sunday for a 12 p.m. contest.
Both Robert Morris and Saint Francis will also play at Bryant this weekend.
The Series with Saint Francis U • This is the 13th meeting all-time between these programs with the Blue Devils holding an 11-1 advantage in the series. CCSU is also 6-0 at Arute Field against the Flash. These programs have met each year since the 2002 season with SFU's only win coming in 2011. In the 2010 meeting, the Blue Devils scored a program record 23 goals in a 23-17 victory.
The Series with Robert Morris • This is the 10th meeting in the all-time series between these programs with the Colonials holding a 5-4 advantage. However, the Blue Devils have won three straight contests with Robert Morris, including a 14-7 victory on the road last season.

The Schedule • After tonight (4/11) three home games remain on CCSU's regular season schedule: Robert Morris on Sunday, April 13 at 12 p.m.; Bryant on Friday, April 18 at 4 p.m. and Sacred Heart on Friday, April 25 at 4 p.m. The April 25 contest will also serve as Senior Day for the women's lacrosse Class of 2014.
At the Mount • Last Friday, the Blue Devils went on the road and defeated Mount St. Mary's 8-7. The Blue Devils were led by sophomore Elyse Malecki's hat-trick and a solid team effort on defense. The victory was CCSU's first ever against Mount St. Mary's.
Climbing the List • Senior Meaghan McCurry recorded her 150th career point with a goal against Wagner on Sunday. McCurry is the fourth player in the history of CCSU women's lacrosse to reach 150 career points. She also ranks among CCSU's top-five all-time in goals scored and assists.
NEC Weekly Award • Freshman Alexandra Hooker was named Northeast Conference Co-Rookie of the Week on March 31 after she scored five goals in CCSU's 22-7 victory over Howard. Hooker's five goals are the most in a contest by any CCSU player this season. It was also the first five-goal performance for a CCSU player since senior Meaghan McCurry scored five times against Quinnipiac on April 20, 2012. Hooker is the second Blue Devil to earn rookie honors this season, classmate Marissa Soto was selected as the NEC Rookie of the Week on Monday, March 17.
