Women's Lacrosse Falls at Hofstra
The Blue Devils will next play on Wednesday at Siena.
The Central Connecticut women's lacrosse team fell to 1-2 on the season with a loss to Hofstra on Saturday afternoon. Hofstra improved to 3-2 on the season with the 17-5 victory.
Four different players accounted for CCSU's five goals with senior Claire Healy registering two scores. Freshman Alexandra Hooker scored her first career goal with 6:35 left in the first half. The goal was the firs to the game for the Blue Devils and was the last of the first half for either squad.
Hofstra led 12-1 at the half and increased its lead to 13-1 before Healy found the net for the sixth time this season.
Trailing 15-2 the Blue Devils scored three times over a four minute stretch with Healy, senior Amanda Toke and sophomore Madison Hughes finding the net.
The Pride notched the final two goals of the game to take the game 17-5.
Senior Cierra Ward, junior Morgan Tullar, sophomore Falynn McCartney, sophomore Morgan Wallace and Toke all had two ground balls in the game. Toke and McCartney also shared a team-high three draw controls.
The Blue Devils return to action on Wednesday afternoon at Siena.
