Jackie Beck has been named the new head women's golf coach at Central Connecticut, Director of Athletics Paul Schlickmann announced on Monday, August 24, 2015.  Beck, the former head men's and women's coach at Albertus Magnus, is a 1985 graduate of Illinois State where she was a four-year member of the golf team and was inducted into the school's Sports Hall of Fame in 2007.

"I am very excited to introduce Jackie Beck as the Head Coach of our Women's Golf program and welcome her to the CCSU family." Schlickmann said on Monday.  "Jackie possesses a unique depth and breadth of experience in the golf world that will prove invaluable to her as the new leader of Blue Devil Women's Golf.  Her accomplishments as a Division I player, in multiple roles as a professional in the golf Industry, as a teacher and a collegiate coach make her well-suited to manage all facets of our program.  She is passionate about the game of golf and committed to the overall educational and athletic development of young women.  I am confident she will serve as a valued mentor and role model to our student-athletes and develop our program into one that can contend for Northeast Conference Championships."

Beck joins the Blue Devils after spending the last year building the golf program at Albertus.  She has been a coach for the First Tee of Connecticut program for the last three years.

"I am excited for the opportunity to lead the women's golf program at Central Connecticut," Beck said.  "I am impressed with the leadership, direction and resources available to make the women's golf team competitive at the Division I level and within our conference.  I'm looking forward to meeting the team and preparing for a successful season."

Following her graduation from Illinois State, Beck spent four years as the assistant golf professional at Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor, FL.  She spent 12 years at Spalding Sports Worldwide as the Golf Promotions Manager and the Marketing Communications Director.  Since 2002, she has successfully run her own business, Beck Communications, an event management and public relations practice specializing in the golf industry.

During her time at Illinois State Beck earned four varsity letters and led her team to the Gateway Conference championship in both 1983 and 1985.  She was ranked as high as 61st in the country in 1983.  She was a two-time All-Gateway Conference selection (1983, 1985) and won the conference title in 1985 with a three round score of 224.
