Women's Golf Picked Third in NEC Preseason Coaches Poll
Blue Devils begin their season on Mar. 5 at the Lonnie Barton Invitational
The Central Connecticut women's golf team was picked to finish third in the Northeast Conference preseason coaches poll released on Tuesday. The Blue Devils received one first place vote among the league's seven coaches. The Blue Devils had a successful fall season, ending competition at the Lehigh Invitational back in October.
The 2018 spring season begins on March 5 when the Blue Devils travel to the Lonnie Barton Invitational being held at the LPGA International course in Daytona Beach, FL. That course will also host the NEC Championships from April 20-22.
Fairleigh Dickinson, the 2017 NEC Runner-Ups, were chosen as the favorite in the poll, receiving four first place votes. Sacred Heart was second, followed by the Blue Devils. LIU Brooklyn and Wagner were tied for fourth place while St. Francis U and St. Francis Brooklyn were sixth and seventh. FDU, Sacred Heart, CCSU and LIU each received at least one first place vote.
The Blue Devils continue their spring schedule with trips to the Kingsmill Invitational (Williamsburg, VA), the Navy Invitational (Annapolis, MD) and the Hartford Invitational, being held at Tumblebrook Country Club in Bloomfield, CT.
