Women's Golf Tied for Fifth After Day One at Lehigh
Freshman Olivia Gardenhour tied for ninth place overall
The Central Connecticut women's golf team is tied for fifth place overall after the first round of the Lehigh University Invitational on Sunday. The tournament is being held at the Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, PA.
The Blue Devils shot a team score of 318 and are tied with Hartford for fifth place. Lehigh is in first place with a score of 304, followed by Fairleigh Dickinson (308), Monmouth and St. Francis U (316) and then CCSU and Hartford.
Freshman Olivia Gardenhour leads the Blue Devils with day one score of 77, she is tied for ninth place overall. Classmate Meghan McLean shot a 79 and is tied for 15th place overall.
Senior Cecy Gutierrez shot 80 and is tied for 17th place. Senior Tara Whelan shot 82 and is tied for 24th place.
Sophomore Emma Heim shot 85 and is tied for 31st place.
The second and final round will take place on Monday.
