Women's Golf Completes Day One at Brown Bear Invitational

Freshman Meghan McLean sits in a tie for fifth place overall after the first round of the Brown Bear Invitational on Sunday. McLean and the Blue Devils are playing in the two day tournament being held at Ledgemont Country Club in Seekonk, MA. The course measures 6,099 yards and is a par 71.
McLean is tied for fifth after a first round score of even par 71. She posted a +3 score on the front nine and then shot -3 on the back, despite a double bogey. She had five birdies on the back nine and shot a 32 to lead the way for the Blue Devils.
Senior Tara Whelan fired a round one score of 78 (+7) and is tied for 33rd place overall.
Freshman Olivia Gardenhour shot 82 and is tied for 49th place. Classmates Alexa Brown (89) and Roxanne Garceau (91) rounded out the scoring for the Blue Devils on Sunday.
The Blue Devils sit in 11th place in the tournament with a team score of 320. Seton Hall leads the pack with a score of 289.
The second and final round will take place on Monday.
