Women's Golf Finishes First Round at Dartmouth Invite
Olivia Gardenhour is tied for 17th overall following the first day.
The Central Connecticut women's golf team finished the first round of the Dartmouth Invitational in ninth-place on Saturday. Freshman Olivia Gardenhour shot a 75 and is in a four-way tie for 17th on the individual leaderboard.
Quinnipiac is atop the standings after shooting a 290 to open the tournament. Albany (299), Dartmouth (300), Siena (301) and Sacred Heart (302) rounded out the top five of the 11-team tournament. Central Connecticut shot 319 in the first round.
The tournament is being played at Hanover Country Club in Hanover, NH.
Just behind Gardenhour, freshman Meghan McLean shot a 77 in the first round and is tied for 24th in the field of 63 golfers.
Senior Cecy Gutierrez is tied for 48th after shooting an 83. Freshman Alexa Brown shot an 84 to rank 50th, while senior Tara Whelan shot 87 to finish tied for 57th to round out the CCSU team scorers.
Freshman Roxanne Garceau is also golfing this weekend and shot an 82 and is tied for 46th.
Round two will tee off on Sunday morning.
