Women's Golf Finishes Sixth at Tignanelli Towson Invitational
Freshman Meghan McLean paces Blue Devils in two day tournament
Freshman Meghan McLean wasted little time making an impact for the Central Connecticut women's golf team in her first collegiate tournament over the weekend. McLean helped pace the Blue Devils to a sixth place team finish in the Tignanelli Towson Invitational on Sunday and Monday. Central shot a team score of 661 to place sixth in the eight team field.
McLean fired a two round score of 157 (+13) to finish in 14th place overall in her first collegiate action. She shot 79 on Sunday and 78 on Monday to lead the way for the Blue Devils.
Sophomore Emma Heim finished in a tie for 29th place overall with a two round score of 165 (+21), with rounds of 82 and 83.
Senior Cecy Gutierrez (81-88) finished in a tie for 35th place while freshman Olivia Gardenhour was right behind with scores of 85-85 (170) in 38th place.
Freshman Alexa Brown finished in 4th place with scores of 94 and 90.
Towson won the team title with a score of 614, followed by Lehigh, Navy, Monmouth and Longwood. CCSU was followed by Hartford, St. Francis U and Delaware State.
